turning a new leaf ♥

I've just spent the last week in Queensland and let me tell you how glad I am to be back home in Melbourne: very glad. I love visiting my family and seeing my wonderful pals, but there's nothing quite like being naked in your own house, not talking to anyone, and sleeping in your own bed! I spent all of yesterday and this morning in bed/on the couch playing games because I have been so drained and couldn't even be bothered to shower #depression. This is going to be short because I want to clean my house, so here's the thing~ I'm going to write a post about one of my very favourite things right now: Animal Crossing!! Nintendo just released their new Animal Crossing Pocket Camp game and it's so cute and wonderful and I want everyone to play it. (If you've downloaded it, let me know so I can add you!)

I've been playing Animal Crossing New Leaf (haha do u get my title now) on and off with varying degrees of obsession since I bought my 3DS in 2013. If you've never heard of Animal Crossing before please look it up, you're in for a real treat! It's such a cute and wholesome game and I've poured over 250 hours into it over the last four years. I've restarted my town twice in that time, and the town I started a few months ago is my favourite so far. It's my most played DS game and 150 of those hours are from this year alone haha woooooops.

I only started playing again this year after not playing for soooo long. I'm so heavily invested now and my town, house, and closet are a perfectly curated pastel dream. I want it to be my actual life. If I could enter any game and live in it, it would be Animal Crossing. I'm always looking up how to get cute new things to improve my town and I have an ACNL inspo folder on Pinterest - that's devotion pals.

It's basically a lesson in being patient for me because it runs on real time. If you know me, you know I'm suuuuuch an impatient person. I hate waiting in line. I hate walking behind slow people. I hate cooking because food doesn't instantly appear ready made in front of me. ACNL challenges me to be patient. You want that silver watering can which can water four flowers at a time? Buy 50 flower seeds from Leif even though his store only stocks two per day. Spend the whole month working towards that watering can so you can water your hundreds of flowers slightly faster. Animal Crossing is a competition with my lack of patience and I want to win.

Don't get me wrong, it's sooo frustrating to have to wait so long to get what you want and to only be able to control some elements of the game - like where your citizens place their houses when they move in. This is one of my biggest hates about the game. The reason I stopped playing a few months ago was because someone moved in front of my house and I was absolutely livid and couldn't deal with it. I quit because I was so mad hahaha. It happened again the other day but this time I ~dealt with it~ like an adult and didn't quit so look, I'm already becoming more patient! It's working!

I'm going to dump a whole lot of cute pics from my New Leaf game below. If you don't play ACNL, what's your favourite game? Are you going to download the AC mobile game? You should. If you regret it, I'll send you a sympathy card in the mail.

This is my bedroom. It's one of my favourite rooms because it is super sweet. Those are pink marshmallow chairs, and you can't really see it well but the ice cream lamps are strawberry swirl. You can also run across the two hearts at the end of my bed and they make the same sounds as in Ocarina of Time!! I just realised my trophy is facing the wrong way too, oopsies!

My laundry! I found inspiration for this in someone else's town. In my many hours of surfing Animal Crossing blogs, I found this one bathroom which was full of plants and it looked like a greenhouse and I loved it so much. I can't remember the blog as this was months ago, but I wish I did as their town is probably perfect. This is probably the room in my house with the most plants.

I am in love with the outside of my house and my living room. I only took one angle of my living room, but not pictured there's a pink and white polka dot bear in the other corner, some pink and yellow flowers on the walls, a dalmation, and some other cute stuff lil things. My personal favourite part of the room is the plate of jam donuts and my two balloon dog lamps. I also really really love my pink bunny balloon. Up in the top two corners I have two mannequins with two of my favourite dresses in the game.

I haven't pictured my kitchen or bathroom because I still need to expand them and find some key items for them, but maybe I'll do a follow up post in the future when they're perfect. I'm still improving the rest of my house too, but I'm pretty content with how it's looking right now. It costs so much to expand your house! I'm taking it slowly now and not forcing myself to pay off my home loans in a day because I wouldn't have time for anything else!!

Last, here's a picture of me with one of my flower beds. I have one for each type of flower. My town is FULL of flowers and it's my favourite thing ever! My ultimate goal is for it to be filled with pink flowers, but apparently I don't have enough luck to grow hybrid flowers quickly. I'll need to put more research in to find out how best to grow them!!  My fav flowers are my pink and black flowers. They're so cute and fill my soul with sunshine.

I spent too long writing this, and now I don't even want to clean my house anymore uuuuuugh. I hope you enjoyed reading about one of my fav games and looking at my pastel dream house.

xoxo love ya pal Sam
