it's show time

I went to the show over the long weekend & it was good but it was also soooooo bad. I had a lot of fun because J and I always manage to make our lives together fun by singing and dancing and eating corn at every possible chance we get, but there was sooooo much stuff that was upsetting hint hint animal agriculture and animals used for entertainment. The animal stuff did put a weird sad cloud over the whole day, but I'm not gonna go into it too much because I can't be bothered. Anyway, besides sad and weird, there were some highlights! One of my faaaaavourite things we saw was the spook castle. It was your regular spooky haunted castle ride but it was literally just called SPOOK. I am having major regrets about not going on Spook castle. What made it even better was that there was a guy dressed as the grim reaper  on the top level and he was SOOOOOO OVER IT. He was so bored and stressed and the least enthusiastic person about being alive. You could tell he was dying (ha ha!) to get out of there. When the spook coasters came by he just tapped the riders on the shoulder with his machete in such an apathetic way, it was incredible.

september snow

Last weekend, some of my very dear friends brought me to see the first snow of my life at Rubicon, Victoria. I begrudgingly got up at 7am (when we were supposed to leave, oops), put on way too many layers of clothing, and steeled myself for TWO HOURS in the car. It turned out to be one of the best days ever, and left me feeling so grateful and warm that I have friends who were SO determined that I was going to see the snow this year. We left Rubicon so exhausted, but excitedly buzzing about our new yearly snow tradition (or at least I was!) The trip to Rubicon was actually really fun. We got coffee and hash browns from McDonalds and talked the entire time. We stopped before we went up the mountain for a pee break, and I went on the playground BUT NOBODY ELSE WANTED TO because everyone hates fun. Anica was very convinced that there wasn't going to be any snow, or there would only be terrible not-very-fun snow, BUT BOY did the mountain sure prove her wrong. When we started to see the first tiny patches of snow, it was like Christmas in my heart. I was so excited to even see a tiny bit of that frozen cold white sludge.
